From time to time, our secure web platform will generate notifications to alert you of any pending or completed system actions that have been performed or are pending execution.
For example, suppose you export a data entry. The system will notify you through the notifications system when your download has been generated and is ready for you to download. This makes it easy to keep track of any entries you'd like to export and whether or not the system has generated the export PDF for you to download.
The notifications area is also a great way to keep track of form connectors that are pending, failed, or completed, allowing you to reschedule any failed connectors should you ever need to.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Notifications
The notification area will appear on the web portal's main menu, as shown in the screenshot above, only when the system has notifications it wishes to alert you of. When you clear your notifications, the notifications menu item will automatically disappear from view and reappear when the system has generated new alerts it wishes to notify you about. The number "1" in the image above shows the number of pending notifications you have in the notifications area.
Clicking on the notification link in the menu will open a window (shown in the screenshot below), allowing you to view, browse, dismiss, and interact with the notification items.
Notification Statuses
The 4 Notification status types are:
- Ready - A data entry export is ready for you to download.
- Failed - A data entry cannot be exported, or a form connector cannot execute successfully.
- Pending - An action is delayed for some reason and is pending execution.
- Information - Notifying various system activities, such as when a user has been activated or invited.
A form connector will go into a pending state due to errors, timeouts, invalid connection or capacity limitations, etc. After the first attempt to retry, a notification will be displayed in the notifications under "Pending". If a Send Notifications To email is set in the Organization Setup, an email notification will be sent for pending notifications.
Pending notifications include:
- How many times has the system attempted a retry;
- When is the system due to attempt another retry;
- Why has the connector entered into a pending state;
- Media uploads that have been delayed for a submission for whatever reason.
Form uploads that have been delayed for whatever reason (noInternet, device offline, etc...) will trigger a pending notification and email after 24 hours |
