Verifying your Play Console developer account

Since July 2023, when creating new Play Console developer accounts, it has become mandatory for Individuals and Organizations to fulfill the new verification requirements.

Additionally, all current Google Play developers who created their Play Console account before the announcement of these modifications will also be required to meet the verification criteria.

When you log in to your Google Developer Console page, you will see this message displayed on your Home page.

Choosing a Deadline

  1. Open Play Console and go to the All Apps page.
  2. You'll see a banner at the top of the page prompting you to choose your preferred account verification deadline.
    Click Get Started.
  3. Select a verification deadline and click Next.
    Note the following:
If an option is disabled, that means it's no longer available.

     4. Confirm your developer account type, and enter any required information, and click Next.

    5. Review your chosen deadline and confirm it by clicking Reserve.

Once you have reserved the deadline, you can start account verification in Play Console 60 days before the deadline.

You should see this under the Account Details tab in your Google Play Console.

Steps to verify your account

  1. Access the Play Console Home, and you’ll notice the notification below. You can begin the verification process 60 days before the deadline, and the Get Started option should be available then.
  2. The next screen lists the sections you must complete to verify your account. To begin the verification process, click Start.
  3. Confirm your account type by selecting Organization account and click Next.
  4. You now need to link a payment profile. If you have a payments profile linked to your account, it will show here. You can then select it and click Continue.

Important: If your organization does not have a D-U-N-S number, you can request one on the website http://www.dnb.com/duns-number.html. Do this as early as possible; obtaining one can take 30 days or more.

  6. In the next step, you can confirm your D-U-N-S information. With this, your payments profile should be created and added to your account.
  7. In the next step, you will link a payments profile to verify your organization.
Verify the details that appear on the page and click on Next.

  8. You will now need to input additional information for your organization and click Next
Details that you need to input include
    - Organization type
    - Organization size
    - Organization phone number
    - Organization website
  9. On the next page, you must provide details on How Google can contact you.
Google will use this information only to contact you when needed, and it will not be shown on Google Play.
Once you have input all the details, click Next.

  10. You now need to input details as part of your developer profile. The information provided here will be shown on Google Play as part of your public developer profile.
Once you have input both the details, click on Next.
