Use screen functions in word templates?

I would like to know if I can use functions, like Count{{stationTable}} in a word template or do I need to put this into a hidden field, like stationCount, in the form.
Yes functions are supported directly inside a word.doc template. All you have to do is wrap your field and formula by using the following format: {{(( function ))}}
